HRCPP pays homage to volunteers who contributed over 21 years

The Hospital Regional do Câncer de Presidente Prudente (HRCPP) held on Friday morning (30) a tribute to the volunteers who were part of the entity throughout the 21 years of the launch of the initial idea of ​​HRCPP.

The opening ceremony was attended by directors, collaborators and volunteers of the HRCPP, members of the Support Association for Cancer Carriers (AAPC), Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Presidente Prudente, public and political bodies that worked for the hospital .

According to the president of the HRCPP, Antonio da Cunha Braga, it is gratifying to see old and current volunteers joining in favor of the hospital. “The event held by the Women’s Committee [Bingo Bazar] showed the power of the union of these two generations, bringing together 600 guests to take part in the action,” said Braga.

Maria Auxiliadora Freitas Constantino, one of the founders of the hospital, spoke about the obstacles she faced in constructing the HRCPP and paid tribute to Dr. Antônio Plácido Pereira, a pioneer in preventive and cervical surgery in Presidente Prudente and in the region. Excited, Placido spoke about the progress of these actions in the city. “We have been able to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer by 2%,” he says.

Another honoree was the president of the HRCPP, a volunteer, who ends his term at the end of December. Braga took the honor to present the new president of the hospital, Francelino Magalhães, who takes over the board from January 1, 2018.
