Mammography Cart carries out free exams in Presidente Prudente

The Mammography Cart of the Government of the state of São Paulo will remain in Presidente Prudente (SP) until February 16, in the parking lot of the Hospital Regional do Câncer de Presidente Prudente (HRCPP) to carry out preventive examinations of breast cancer in women who have passed by the Municipal Health Network and are already requesting an examination performed by the doctor.
The cart was requested by the Municipal Health Department of the municipality, with the purpose of reducing the queue of women waiting. To receive care, women who are notified by the Municipal Health Department, and who have not performed an examination in the year 2018, should:
Women between the ages of 35 and 49 and 11 months years old: must be with medical request and personal document with photo;
Women over 50: must attend SUS (Single Health Care System) card and personal document with photo.
Program
The Mammography Cart is part of the Breast Women Program, which aims to detect early breast cancer and facilitate access to diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
“Four carts travel through the municipalities of São Paulo, offering preventive examinations of mammography. The mobile mammography units have a multidisciplinary team composed of radiology technicians, nursing professionals, administrative staff and an ultrasonographer”, says the State Government of São Paulo.
